THE VISION
Parents/caregivers get a really great weekend workout without having to split hours, juggle schedules, book babysitters, or toggle between co-parent workouts and children’s activities.
Children get exposure to an energetic class, offering an age-appropriate focus on strength and cardio, wrapped in a subtle education-forward format to help them learn about taking care of their bodies from an early age.
Through fun, playful circuit-style exercises, the children not only get an opportunity to shake those sillies out but also exercise their minds and bodies without requiring sport-specific skills or advanced coordination abilities. Our educational messaging focuses on introducing different muscle groups and how they move us, and emphasizing how we can take care of our body (stretching, hydration, healthy eating habits, positive thinking) so that our body will take care of us!
THE PILOT: 4 SESSIONS
We will be running a 4-session North End Circuit class for families.
This is a moderate-to-intense level 45 minute circuit workout for the adults while the children participate in adjacent programming with peers and a different instructor.
*This is not a joint-participation class. This is two separate workouts running at the same time.
We have space for 8 parents/caregivers, and 8 children born between 2019 and 2021.
With your support and feedback we look forward to building a more robust program offering, and potentially offering classes for children of all ages.

FAQs
Is this the right fit for my child?
This class is designed to be a fun, engaging, and positive experience for all participants.
To help ensure everyone has a great time, this format works best for children who:
- Are comfortable participating independently in a small group setting with an instructor
- Can follow simple directions and respond to guidance in a busy, active environment
- Are able to stay with their group for the duration of the class
Our space will be active, with music, equipment, and multiple things happening at once. Children don’t need prior fitness experience—but being able to listen, engage, and participate safely is important for both their experience and the group as a whole.
What if my child prefers to stay close to me?
During this class, adults and children participate in separate, concurrent sessions within the same space. While participants may be aware of each other’s presence, the expectation is that each group remains with their instructor for the full class.
For safety and flow of the class, children must be able to remain with their group and follow instructor guidance. This may not be the best fit for children who need one-on-one support or frequent check-ins with their caregiver during the session.
Anything else I should consider?
- This is not a parent/caregiver-assisted class; children participate independently with their instructor
- Our team is experienced in working with kids, but this is still a structured group environment rather than free play
- If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help you decide if it’s a good match!
Do I need to commit to all 4 sessions?
Yes, this requires a 4-session commitment. The same child must attend the sessions, however the accompanying adult can rotate.
What age must the child be?
Participating children must be born in 2019, 2020 or 2021.
Future offerings may expand to additional age groups.
Interested in a different age group? Register your interest in the form and indicate the age range you are hoping to see.
How does the class work?
Participants arrive together, then split into two separate groups:
- Adults complete a 45-minute North End Circuit workout
- Children participate in their own instructor-led circuit class
Both sessions run at the same time and finish together.
Will I be working out with my child?
No. Adults and children take part in separate, instructor-led sessions.
Do children need prior fitness or sports experience?
Not at all! The class is designed to be sport-agnostic, focusing on general movement, strength, and cardio through fun, accessible exercises.
What will my child be doing during their class?
Children will take part in a playful, high-energy circuit that includes:
- Basic strength and cardio movements
- Games and activities that build coordination and confidence
- Simple, age-appropriate education about how their bodies move and how to take care of them
Is this a structured class or more like free play?
This is a structured, instructor-led class with a clear flow. While it’s fun and playful, children will be guided through activities as a group.
What should we bring?
- Clean, indoor sneakers for both adult and child
- Water bottles
- Comfortable workout clothing
Should my child eat beforehand?
A light snack beforehand is recommended so they have energy to participate.
What if my child needs help during the class?
Our instructors will support and guide participants throughout the session. However, children are expected to participate independently (as outlined above). If your child needs to excuse themself to use the washroom (for example) we will ask for your support so that our instructors don’t need to leave the group.
Why is this a pilot program? Why only 4 weeks?
We’re testing and refining this format to build a strong, long-term offering. Your feedback will directly shape future classes and age group expansions.
What happens if it’s not the right fit after we start?
We want this to be a positive experience for everyone. If it becomes clear that the format isn’t the right fit for your child, we may pause participation and follow up with you after class to discuss next steps.
