MUAY THAI WORKSHOP – KICKS

R Studios Muay Thai Seminars
These seminars are perfect for R Studio members who are looking to improve their bag work classes or who are new to Muay Thai. Members will build their foundation and technique by focusing on each of the weapons of Muay Thai: punches, kicks, elbows, and knees.

Benefits include:
• develop proper/correct technique
• improve coordination / “flow”, power, and footwork
• understand the theory behind certain movements and body mechanics
• introduction to more advanced technique
• help to reduce the potential for injury due to improper technique
• learn a skill – create a sense of empowerment, and accomplishment

Seminar #1 — Punches Feb 15th
Introduction and overview to the following technique:
• Straight punches (Jab and Cross; head and body)
• Hooks (head and body)
• Uppercuts
• Overhands (if time permits)

Seminar #2 — Kicks Feb 29th
Introduction and overview to the following technique:
• Swing Kick
• Switch Kicks
• Teep / Push Kicks

Seminar #3 — Elbows March 14th
Introduction and overview to the following technique:
• Horizontal Elbows (front and back)
• Cut Down Elbows (front and back)
• Uppercut Elbows (front and back)

Seminar #4 — Knees March 28th
Introduction and overview to the following technique:
• Knee
• Switch Knee
• Side Knees

Seminars will feature basic Muay Thai techniques and combinations, technical drills demonstrated by the instructor and done as a group, partner work and/or bag work.

Each seminar would be approximately 2 hours; in addition to the technique there be a warm-up, as well as an opportunity for questions.
